Some More Details on my Updates to The Inventor’s Son Series

Hello, everyone! This morning, I took the first steps to changing the price of The Inventor's Son back to $3.99. The price has already changed at Google Play because such changes are usually immediate there. I suspect it will be a few days before the change is completely done with Amazon because Nook takes a …

My Plans For This Blog In 2017

I have a load of material I'd love to blog about here, but it just seems dumb to blog about it on a WordPress dot com site when I have a perfectly good website to host a blog.

A Quick Update on the Status of The Inventor’s Son

Last week I had mentioned that I was switching out my permafree book. Well, since then, The Inventor's Son: The Beginning is reverted back to a paid book on all sales channels (and I resumed putting it on Scribd and 24Symbols), and now I have gotten The Inventor's Son free on all sales channels besides …

A Writing Book I Recommend: Take Off Your Pants!

This book had been recommended countless times to me, and until now, I hadn't gotten around to reading it. However, yesterday was destined to be a terrible writing day for me, because I woke up with one of those weather related headaches that linger all day. Once evening came, I was feeling a little better, …

Looking Back on 2015

Of the things I wanted to accomplish, I actually did get some of it done!

Five Productivity Tools I LOVE!

NOTE: This is a post I've been very eager to  finish for quite a while. You might notice some of the changes going on around here. Soon you won't recognize this place, believe me! There is one thing that conspires against me this time of year... I realize that in many areas of the world right …

NaNoWriMo Begins Yet Again, and So Do the Word Sprints!

This post that I’m reblogging is from back in June, when I was about to embark on Camp NaNoWriMo. How’s everyone doing after their first ten days of NaNo? Are you actually 1/3 of the way through your 50k word draft? As of this writing, I’m at almost 19k, so that puts me ahead of the game, but the intensity of NaNo has been getting me a bit down. I need to be mindful of how deep I dive into things, because for me, the intensity can trigger depression. So for another day or so, I’m going to be taking things a bit slower so that I don’t get overwhelmed.
In other news, I’m running a 99 cent promotion on The Inventor’s Son through November 19th to celebrate it’s 6 month anniversary of publication. Also, The Scientist’s Son is finally published! Links to all outlets where it’s available is on my “The Inventor’s Son” page.
This post was all about word sprints, and how helpful they are to me, and can be to you, as you go forward in your NaNoWriMo adventure! I hope you find it helpful!

SB James, Doing the Write Thing

Camp NaNoWriMo will start up again in earnest on July 1. I am hoping that I will do better this time than last. In April, I had overextended myself with building up the blog, hoping to launch the book (which never happened) and my dear dog passed away. Which pretty much washed out camp.
One of the greatest things I discovered during NaNoWriMo last November were the word sprints. For those of you who may not be familiar with them, let me tell you about what those are, and how you too can participate in word sprints!
I discovered them quite by accident during the final week and a half of NaNoWriMo. I was already been following NaNoWriMo on Twitter, and one night they tweeted about the word sprints. I went and clicked on NaNo’s official Twitter handle for the word sprints, @NaNoWordSprints and basically just jumped right in.
The…

Plenty of Things Coming Up With Me!

Yes, this is the final design! I had made the decision last week, but didn't want to actually announce it until... I HAVE PUBLISHED THE SCIENTIST'S SON! WooHoo me! I had anticipated this book being a difficult one for me to write from the very beginning. I was introducing a character into Ethan's life who …

Speculative Fiction Blog Hop

I have agreed to take part in what we're calling the Speculative Fiction Blog Hop. The post prior to this one was on Dean F. Wilson's Blog. Dean is a fellow Steampunk author, as well as the author of The Children of Telm, an epic fantasy series. So, without any further ado, I've got a …
